An oasis of relaxation in the heart of Valtiberina

Il Poggio is a lovely 170-acre property surrounded by green Tuscan hills.

Nestled in those hills, the charming stone farmhouse is located on a hill overlooking the Tiber Valley (Valtiberina), in a landscape where vineyards, olive groves, and fields of grain alternate among rows of silent cypresses.

Upon arrival, our guests will find a welcome basketand all the information on local history, folklore, and traditional cuisine. They can taste our delicious local food in the restaurants of the area or prepare their own personal dishes, using local ingredients that can be purchased at the picturesque local markets.

The surrounding gardens are furnished with tables and comfortable garden furniture, a barbecue, and a pizza oven. The wisteria and American grape pergolas offer a refreshment during the hot summer afternoons.

The pool

The pool is private and reserved exclusively for our guests. It is located in a separate area from the farmhouse and surrounded by a lawn and centuries-old trees. The comfortable poolside gazebo is ideal for pleasant outdoor dinners. Our guests say that “swimming in the large swimming pool, surrounded by olive trees and lavender bushes, is a gift for both the body and the soul.”

The barn

In front of the villa is the old barn, another space for our guests to dine, play music, play with kids, or just a cozy place to spend a relaxing afternoon.

Outdoor areas

The lawns and gardens of our property are full of herbs and fragrant flowers such as lavender, broom, climbing roses, and iris.
In the orchard adjacent to the pool, old varieties of fruit trees have been planted to recover and protect a cultural heritage that would otherwise be lost.

Our agricultural production

Our farm produces on its own land wheat, barley, and excellent olive oil.

Our oil comes from different varieties of olive trees (leccino, moraiolo, frantoiano e gentile) grown according to ancient traditions and cultivated without the use of pesticides. La raccolta delle olive viene effettuata a mano e la premitura è eseguita a freddo entro 24 ore dalla raccolta.
The harvest is done by hand and the cold pressing takes place within 24 hours of collection. The oil thus retains a fresh taste and aroma that makes it truly raw, perfect for the typical “bruschetta” and perfect for any Italian and international dish.

The house uses its own well water both for irrigation and for drinking.
